Castelli aimed to create a commuter jacket that offers excellent nighttime visibility without the need for conspicuous silver reflective bands that may seem out of place off the bike. The solution is a material featuring a reflective micro print that provides 360° visibility in low-light conditions while maintaining a sleek look suitable for the office environment.
The fabric of the jacket is not only reflective but also waterproof, with a remarkable 20,000mm water column rating. Additionally, it boasts a 20,000 MVTR breathability rating, allowing moisture to escape, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable even when you take the jacket off.
The Reflex Jacket features an inner gaiter at the waist, which serves to seal out the wind. However, you can choose to leave it open for increased ventilation in warmer weather. The gaiter also ensures the jacket hangs smoothly without bunching, a common issue with internal elastic found in many cycling jackets.
For added versatility, the jacket includes Velcro wrist closures that not only introduce ventilation but also enable a secure seal when worn with gloves during cold mornings or late evenings.
